Greek alphabet, was developed in Greece about 1000 BCE. Even though today the Greek alphabet is only used for the Greek language, it is the root and base of the most spoken languages in the western world. It was the start for many countries’ writing systems. The people of ancient Greece developed a sophisticated language with
an extraordinarily rich vocabulary. It has existed for nearly 3,500 years, the longest of any language derived from early European. Of course there were many amendments since then and coming to modern language of today but it keeps a heavy influence on the English speaking civilization of the West.
